Putting people before profit since 1990
Built on strong co-operative values and ethical principles, our credit union exists to help people take control of their money with fair, affordable financial services that put members first. Our organisation brings together the proud histories of Metro Moneywise Credit Union and The Co-op Credit Union, now known as The Money Co-op.
Metro Moneywise Credit Union was founded through a partnership with Rochdale Council, supporting employees across local government, health, education and social care, including NHS workers across Greater Manchester. The Co-op Family Credit Union was established by, and for, colleagues from the Co-operative family of companies, rooted in the co-operative movement and its belief in fairness, community and people helping people.
Today, we continue that legacy as a member-owned, not-for-profit financial co-operative focused on improving financial wellbeing and making saving and borrowing simpler, fairer and more accessible for everyone we serve.
