What you told us in our recent member survey

Date Created: Wed 03/Sep/2025

From everyday savings to life-changing loans, here’s what you told us in the 2025 member survey.

We asked members what being part of The Money Co-op means to them. An incredible 596 of you took part! and the responses told us loud and clear that you think saving with us is easier, our loans are making a difference where it counts, and being part of a co-operative really matters.

Saving made simple

For many of you, the biggest benefit of membership is the simplicity of saving straight from pay or pension. One member told us: “The money is taken directly from my wages, so I don’t miss it,” and “I forget it’s there until I need it; it feels like a bonus.” Another said: “Saving has never been easier, you set your monthly amount, get used to it, and sit back while the pennies look after themselves.”

Three-quarters of members said they now save more regularly than before joining, and 30% told us they’d never saved before at all until becoming part of The Money Co-op. And it sounds like those savings are making a real difference:

  • “It helped me pay for school trips for my grandchildren which would otherwise have been unaffordable.”
  • “I was able to carpet my new home and later replace my old PC with only a small impact on my other costs.”
  • “It’s been a literal life saver at times.”

Affordable, fair loans

Our loans are also appreciated by members, who value the affordability and accessibility they offer:

  • “It gave me access to a loan when no one else would.”
  • “You helped me consolidate debt and rebuild my credit.”
  • “I was able to pay for a flight to New Zealand and a deposit on a flat after a marriage breakdown. It changed everything for me.”
  • “I got a loan for a stair lift, which I could never have managed otherwise.”
  • “Having repayments taken directly from my wages means I can budget without worrying, and I’m saving at the same time.”

Proud to be part of a co-operative

Beyond the practical benefits, members are also proud to be part of a co-operative. As one put it: “I feel part of something bigger, an ethical organisation I trust.” Another added: “No shareholders hiking rates for no reason, just people helping people.” For some, that sense of belonging is as important as the money itself: “Being a member makes me feel empowered and part of a community.”

People matter too

Many praised the people behind the scenes, which was great to hear: “Staff are so helpful and amazing. Thank you.” Even where applications weren’t successful, members valued our approach: “I wasn’t approved for a loan, but the team were quick and clear in explaining the reasons why, it made me feel comfortable with their decision.”

Your views on the new brand and website

It’s been a few months since our rebrand to The Money Co-op, and the response has been really encouraging. Almost 9 in 10 members rated the new brand and website ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very Good’, praising the modern, approachable look and clearer navigation. A few of you also suggested improvements — like making the app more flexible with new features, and simplifying the login process, and we’re looking into how we can build on the improvements already made.

Spreading the word

With a Net Promoter Score of 71, (far above than the financial services average of +20 to +35), it’s clear members don’t just value The Money Co-op, they actively recommend us to others. “I encourage my colleagues to join as it’s easy to save up with The Money Co-op since it comes out of my wages and I don’t notice the deductions.” Another member told us: “I love being a member and actively encourage others to join.”

Thank you!

A big thank you once again to the hundreds of members who took part in our 2025 survey. Your feedback helps us understand what matters most, where we can improve, and how we can continue to support you in the years ahead. What you’ve told us underlines the strength of our co-operative difference: making saving simple, providing fair access to credit, and giving people the reassurance of being part of an organisation that puts members first. It’s great to have such a vocal and active set of members, so thanks again for taking part.
